Our Methodology

How we find, vet, and represent American made companies.

What We Do

Made It In The States is a transparency and education platform. We help consumers find companies that manufacture in the United States and understand the details behind their “Made in USA” claims.

We do not certify or endorse companies. We are a directory — a starting point for research, not an authority on what qualifies.

The FTC Standard

The Federal Trade Commission requires that a product labeled “Made in USA” must be all or virtually all made in the United States. This means all significant parts, processing, and labor must be of U.S. origin.

Many companies use terms like “Assembled in USA,” “Designed in USA,” or “Made with American and imported parts.” These are different claims. Our platform helps you understand the distinction.

How Listings Work

Companies are added to our directory through community submissions and our own research. All listings are reviewed before publication. Companies can claim their listing and add verified manufacturing details to build trust with consumers.

Verified listings include manufacturing location, assembly location, component sourcing details, and optional third-party verification status — information the company has chosen to share publicly.

Our Commitment

We are committed to accuracy and transparency. If you find incorrect information, please contact us. If you represent a company listed here and want to update your information, you can claim your listing.
